Following our American Legion Wreaths Across America program which took place on December 18, 2021, I submitted a letter to the editor to share my speech with readers who were unable to make one of our ceremonies. A key point that I made in my speech was accidently omitted when the letter was published.
I quoted our 40th United States President Ronald Reagan who pointed out that, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, OR one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
I and many of my fellow veterans, are of the opinion that our freedoms are under higher jeopardy today than ever before in our lifetimes. The movements to erase our history, accuse our founding fathers of racism because they were all white, contend that we must defund the police, and to argue that the rule of law is no longer appropriate are intended to destroy our nation and our freedoms.
As I’ve stated several times before, WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
