by Marshall Bloom, Hamilton
(to the tune of “Jamaica Farewell” sung by Harry Belafonte)
Down the way where the nights are gay,
And the sun shines daily on the mountain top,
I took a trip on a cruising ship,
But when I got the COVID, I had to stop.
Now I’m sad to say I’m here to stay,
Stuck here in the ship’s sick bay.
The doctors frown, my head is turning around.
I should have got the COVID jab ‘fore I left town.
