Apparently, the US Supreme Court is set to redefine law about privacy, and self determination, as those subjects pertain to women. Maybe also to non cisgender people.
Governor Greg Gianforte signed into law three bills that limit abortion access in Montana. And signed Senate Bill 215, that allows businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ people. And signed House Bill 112, which bars transgender girls and women from competing in school sports, according to their self determined gender.
In the upcoming Dobbs Case, the Department of Justice may seek to avoid a 5-4 SCOTUS decision that might reverse some, or all, of Roe v. Wade. Such a decision would intersect with Montana law and practice, and prompt state law banning abortion.
In late November, state, and county law and practice intersected. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen intervened in a case where a County Attorney Office intended for a man to plead to a charge of felony assault with a gun. In a Helena restaurant, in November of 2020, when because of Covid-19, face coverings were required, the man was told he must wear a face covering.
As reported, the man responded by hitting the restaurant manager in the genitals, and revealing, and pointing to, a handgun. There may or may not have been a threat to shoot the restaurant manager. The man did not have a permit to carry a concealed handgun, and he was carrying a handgun in a prohibited space.
AG Knudsen’s Office did not credibly investigate the incident, arranged for a Helena District Judge to hear the case, and recommended a $50 fine, for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Late last month, that Judge fined the man the max for that charge, $100.
Here’s the problem. The man assaulted two people. Either of which, in a jury trial, could have testified, and lead to a conviction. After all, under statute Section 46-11-201, the very competent County DA Office had probable cause to file a charge of felony assault with a gun.
Looking forward, what will happen between intersections of SARS CoV-2 caused Covid-19, and the people, in Montana, also in the USA?
During the SARS CoV-2 Delta outbreak, 36 states have had consistently better vaccine rates than does Montana. Currently, all state sections, other than the western state section, are experiencing rising numbers of new cases of hospitalizations, and deaths, of Covid-19 patients.
You may well know that during the Delta outbreak in Montana, around three quarters of the Covid-19 patients in the major MT hospitals were not vaccinated.
You probably know that Ivermectin does not prevent SARS CoV-2 Delta caused Covid-19 in Montana, or the USA.
Most countries have better vaccine rates than does the USA. Unfortunately, the USA will be one of the last countries to achieve herd immunity.
You may well have read, and/or heard, that US counties with low vaccine rates, last year voted for Trump for President. And that USA counties and cities with high vaccination rates are the least impacted by SARS CoV-2 caused hospitalizations, and deaths.
You may know there’s still an onslaught of anti-vaccine smear, propagated by bad actors, domestic and foreign.
Fact checking should be as well practiced as is hand washing.
For the common good, strongly consider getting fully vaccinated against the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus.
Currently, there are way too many well financed psy op propaganda campaigns acting to undermine the common good of the USA.
Psy op campaigns can be used against enemy troops, but not against the common good of Americans.
