Luke 10:19
Jesus said: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
Read that verse again, here it is:
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
Isn’t that an amazing promise from Jesus to us? We have been given authority. What does that mean the we’ve been given authority?
Well, the definition of authority is: noun, plural au•thor•i•ties. the power to determine, adjudicate, or otherwise settle issues or disputes; jurisdiction; the right to control, command, or determine.
So, we have God given power to determine, adjudicate, or otherwise settle issues or disputes. We have jurisdiction, the right to control, and have command or the ability to determine the fate of snakes and scorpions to overcome all power of the enemy, Satan. And, we are promised that nothing will harm us.
Exactly what does that mean? It means nothing will harm you. It means, as a Christian, you belong to God, you are His today and for eternity no matter what happens to you on earth. We have been promised an eternity with God. Now, it’s amazing that Jesus has shared His power and authority with us! As a Christian embrace what Jesus has shared with you. Don’t be afraid to stand up to evil no matter how big and scary it may seem. God is bigger and stronger and you have been given strength and authority straight from Him. So. Just as Jesus told us hundreds of times in the Bible, do not fear! Stand fast to the truth, let others see how powerful Jesus is through your actions and how wonderful His grace and mercy are on those who seek Him. As a Christian, let there be no doubt, we are at spiritual war. And our enemy doesn’t sleep and he doesn’t take time off. So, we must not let our guard down and take the fight to Satan through Prayer, and through strength and authority given to us by Jesus. You have nothing to lose, but others can lose everything if you are timid and don’t accept who you are in Jesus. Have courage, let the light of Jesus shine through you and stand firm in the truth.

Before you can claim that you are authorized to act under the direction of a god you need to first prove that the god that you believe in even exists, something that no one in the entire history of mankind has been able to do for any god, let alone the one that you believe in specifically.

God given Authority? Snakes and scorpions? Man’s dominion over all?
One might conclude, with all that high end authority, mere snakes and scorpions should not have been so formidable an adversary..
Oh, is it that Mr. Daily’s “snakes and scorpions” are metaphors for humans just like him with whom he does not agree? Now that is some rough stuff for ANY god to grant authority over much less an all forgiving Christian God.
I can only wonder what Mr. Daily’s “snakes and scorpions” actually look like to him, and how it is, will all that “authority”, they plague him so..

His mindset is indistinguishable from the terrorists that flew the planes into the Twin Towers on 9/11.. No act is forbidden if it is done in the name of a god.
