This opinion letter is in reply to Mary Fahnestock Thomas (MFT) but first and more important, I commend Frank Novotny and Henry Fowler for their letters to the editor, Oct 6, 2021. Frank Novotny – for his letter supporting the wonderful people who live in this valley and adhere to the Constitution and Henry Fowler – whose letter was timely and informative on reporting Critical Race Theory (CRT) training and racism in the schools to the AG’s office and the AG’s rulings on CRT in the schools.
CRT propaganda and training occurring in the schools is what especially concerns my husband and me. CRT should concern MFT, but she doesn’t understand how insidious and nonsensical it is. She needs to learn. MFT, pay attention. The following is for you and all parents in the Valley to really learn what Critical Race Theory is all about.
• Rule #1 in CRT is that everyone who is white is a racist at every moment of the day. Racism and white supremacy exist everywhere in every situation, and whites are racist no matter what. Even if they claim they are anti-racism or are non-racists, they are racists. Even three-month-old babies are racist according to the Department of Education in Arizona. Blacks cannot be racists unless they oppose CRT. They are then called Uncle Tom or “white.” CRT rejects Martin Luther King’s message of “colorblindness” as “racist.” Yes, King was a “white” black racist according to CRT!
• Rule #2 – One should NOT question whether there is or isn’t racism, but how racism presents itself. As it exists everywhere. If you disagree or criticize the nonsensical CRT ideology, that is proof that you’re a racist. Objective truth and proof, meritocracy, and facts, are rejected by CRT. Only personal stories are needed to prove a claim.
• Rule #3 – All legislation, laws, etc. and the trillions of dollars we spend now to help Blacks do no good. These funds were only to benefit white people and their systems. If you hire someone based on their skills and experience without considering their race, that is white supremacy.
• Rule #4 – it is okay to lie or MANIPULATE LANGUAGE to mislead (gaslight) people into accepting the ideology of CRT and any agenda put out by a CRT proponent. Racism against the “correct” groups (Asians, Hispanics, Jews, Whites) is acceptable if it achieves “Equity” and/or is a response to historical injustices such as slavery during the Civil War. (That Blacks and Native Americans owned slaves in the 1800’s and Blacks still do today is to be ignored as it doesn’t promote the CRT agenda.) Language must be manipulated. Diversity means that only those with different racial/ethnic/gender backgrounds should be listened to, but all must have the same opinion and ideology. What is NOT tolerated is anyone who has a different opinion or ideology. Equity is not equality which is a ‘white supremacist idea’ and should be rejected as should the Constitution. Equity means racial quotas and sameness (a la 1950-80) and equal outcomes=Oregon: All high school attendees will get the same high school diploma (even if some cannot read, write, or do math,) and includes eliminating testing for college, physical fitness for the military, etc.
Inclusion means that only CRT is permitted to be included or promoted in any organization or relationship.
Now do you understand, MFT? It doesn’t matter if you try to “understand” the “Black experience,” or let your heart bleed for Blacks, you are still white and therefore a racist!
MFT – You are wrong again as is almost everything you said in your letter, “Conspiracies,” Wed. Oct 6. SIGH! What you fail to realize is the one point on which you were correct about Blacks and the GI Bill, is that the problem was rectified. That is what is so great about this country. When we have problems, we work to solve them, but you failed to mention that didn’t you? Now as far as SEL? Look up Pioneer Institute.org and SEL, K-12 Education as New Nanny State. It is a meta-study of many SEL programs and their results. Read especially pages 19-24 on conclusions about SEL achievements which are “thin” and two studies that disputed the conclusion of the study and were deliberately omitted. I suggest that you use mindfulness since you don’t have any idea of what SEL is. However, you are a perfect liberal for the mindfulness crowd.
David Welch says
You pulled these ‘rules’ out of your butt, didn’t you? They certainly don’t apply to CRT.
