Did you know?

September 14, 2021 by Guest Post

by Bob Michalson, Stevensville

Since January 2nd, 2018, (Mayor Dewey’s) first day in office as Mayor of Stevensville, the following people have either resigned, left or retired from the town of Stevensville.

Council members – Raymond Smith, Jim Crews, Stacie Barker, Jerry Phillips, Steve Gibson, Patrick Shourd, Bob Michalson, Robin Turjan Holcomb, Dempsey Vick

Finance Officer/Human Resource – April Van Tassel, Robert Underwood

Clerk – Staci Bartlett, Audree Tribbensee, Monica Hoffman

Cemetery Sexton – Dean Whitesitt

Utility Clerk- Denise Philley

Building Dept. – Dennis Parman

Public Works – George Thomas

Police Dept. – James Marble, Renee’ Jessop, Scott (?), Sam Fawcett

Police Clark – Chelsea Teel

Town Attorney – Brian West, Scott Owens

Airport Manager(s) – Paul O’Bagy

That’s 30 or more people. I probably have left a few off the list. These employees were some of the highest paid in the County and State. Why did they leave? The only common denominator in all of this is the Mayor. He is the only one left.

Also, Mr. Dewey has purchased:

$69,000 in needless “My Sidewalks” software to that has nothing to do with real sidewalks

$66,000 in First Call Computer support that still charges the town when it replaces or repairs computers for the town.

$92,000 in computer and pager equipment for the town.

Outsourced our Water/Sewer Billing that costs the town an additional $532 a month ($6,384 a year), when it costs approx. $220 a month to do it here in town (not figuring printer, wages, etc.).

Please keep this in mind when you place your “X” on the ballot this November.

Don’t forget two more things: a judge found Dewey guilty of breaking a law, and dewey also actively suppressed/denied Citizens right to free speech for town council meetings.

Both those facts were stories covered by this paper!
