Rita Ann Yarbrough

August 25, 2021 by Editor

Rita Ann Yarbrough joined her Lord in heaven on August 19, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 11, 1931, in Grand Forks, ND, to Lawrence and Jeannette Butler, the eldest of eight children. The family moved to Michigan when she was eleven years old. She graduated from Midland High School in 1949 and from Saint Mary’s School of Nursing three years later. She then moved to California where she met and married the love of her life, Clyde Yarbrough, and together they raised seven children. Children include Stephen Yarbrough, Stan Yarbrough (deceased), Keith Yarbrough (Dorene), Claudia Neufeld (Dennis), Mary Wingert (Steve), Jeannette VanTassel (Claude), and Gena Leak (Cecil).  Rita had 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years in 1997.

Rita had many interests and hobbies.  She loved playing games of all kinds, especially cards and dominos. She was involved with Red Hats, TOPS, her church, and especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her greatest source of joy.  Rita loved reading and would often read a book a day.

She moved to Montana five years ago to be near her daughters and their families, and quickly made Stevensville her home. She was very impressed with how friendly and welcoming everyone she met was. She made many wonderful friends here. Rita was a blessing to the lives of many.

She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Rita requested there be no formal funeral service. We hope when you remember her, it will be with love in your heart, like she had for others.
