Greg Stueckrath

Stevensville – Greg Stueckrath of Stevensville passed away Friday, August 6, 2021.  He was born April 29, 1955 in Plainview, Nebraska the son of Norman Lee and Kay Annette (Thomas) Stueckrath.

Greg graduated from Plainview High School in 1973. He excelled in sports, especially track, football and basketball. He married Joyce Onnen in 1973 and they had 2 daughters, Heather Ann born in 1979 and Holly Jo born in 1982.  The family moved to Kingman, AZ in 1983.  Greg and Joyce were later divorced.

Greg worked for the phone company for 17 years, moving to Stevensville in 1990, where he worked in building construction. Greg met his forever partner, Cozette Kovacich in 1991.  They spent the next 30 years sharing their friendship, their love and their lives.

Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and playing pool. He was a life-long Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan, and for the past 10 years, he and Cozy have been enthusiastic fans of Gonzaga and Creighton basketball.

Greg is survived by Cozette “Cozy” in Stevensville; his daughter Holly Stueckrath and his son-in-law, Keith Walker; grandchildren, Ellington and Emmerson, all of Kingman, AZ; his brother Kam and his wife Deb and nieces Amber, Toni and Miranda and their families in Nebraska; his sister, Joette Springer and fiancé Pete Schumacher of Sidney, MT and niece, Jessica and nephew Aaron and their families in Billings, MT; an aunt and lots of cousins. He also leaves so many friends, too numerous to mention – you know who you are.  He was preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Heather.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish in Stevensville on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow the Mass at The High Country Club in Stevensville. Greg requests no flowers, and any memorials be made to Hospice.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
