Why?

June 30, 2021 by Guest Post

By Von Dailey, Florence

Why a rainbow crosswalk? Why, something to segregate you from everyone else? Why do you feel you are different and deserve special treatment? Why do you need a symbol of Inclusion or empowerment, or affirmation? Do you feel it will help you overcome fear and self doubt? I’m here to tell you, the answer is “NO!” Will a symbol help reduce the suicide rate of the LGBTQ+ community? I’d say that answer is NO! Do you really believe that a symbol, that mimics God’s rainbow, that was made by a person is the thing you want to hold on to for inclusion, empowerment, and affirmation? Do you really think that a symbol will ease your fear and self doubt? Please give that some serious thought.

If you are really searching for inclusion, empowerment and affirmation; if you struggle with self-doubt and fear, there is one person, and only one person to turn to to achieve those goals. Not just for a minute or a day or a week but forever, and that is Jesus! He’s the way, the truth and the life. Don’t just believe me, try it yourself. You are changed by the truth when you speak and live the truth. I’m sure you have heard about Jesus, but do you know Him? Do you have a relationship with Him? You probably have wondered about Him, but were to afraid to ask or didn’t know who to ask. Do you feel bound and shackled and don’t know where to turn? You can be set free, there is a way. I’m a team leader for Stand Together For Freedom, but first and foremost I’m a Christian and I know the power of truth, I know the authority and power Jesus returned to us at the cross. It’s much more powerful than a symbol and lasts forever. You are special, you have a purpose, just the same as everyone else. And, I can help you to know the truth and break the chains that bind you. I’m here to help. You can reach me at:  thehelpzone@yahoo.com.

Your god is not nearly as inclusive & loving as you seem to think. The rainbow is a reminder that he (supposedly) once murdered every man, woman and child in the planet (except for one family) because he had a temper tantrum. He is also no fan of of the LGBTQ community, as he clearly instructs his cult members to murder them ( Leviticus 20:13). And no, you can’t disregard those facts because they’re from the Old Testament because if you do, then you’d also have to disregard the Ten Commandments and the creation story, which are also OT. If you lose the creation story then you also lose the story about Adam & Eve & if you lose that then you’ve also lose the story about original sin, and if you lose the story about original sin, well, then you’ve just lost the entire reason for Christianity’s existence.

Straight guy here! You shouldn’t let rainbows bother you so much, you said yourself they’re god’s creation. What’s wrong with a crosswalk being a little more pleasant looking? Don’t let it get under your skin, it’s bad for your heart.
