His close big brothers Don, John, Ted, Jim and Keith plus so many close friends and colleagues.

He grew up in Thornwood/Pleasantville, NY area, moving to Carmel, NY in his junior year and graduating from CHS in 1962.

Terry served and retired as Detective from the Town of Carmel Police Department, then worked in sales for a private construction firm and returned to law enforcement and retired as Inspector General for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. He served his community well as a Carmel School Board member and Legislator Town of Kent District #3 Putnam County and was a member of the NYS Federation of Police and FOP Driscoll Lodge #704 and prior member of Teamsters local 456 union. He loved playing baseball, football and wrestling. Under the guidance of his high school coach, Don Allen, he learned how important coaching was to help mold children’s lives. He was a former baseball umpire, coached kids’ baseball and most recently coached kids’ football. His love for family was boundless. He also loved mowing his lawn and fields, building stone walls and gardening. One of his favorite quotes from Yogi Berra was “If you don’t know where you are going you might end up someplace else.” He lost his battle with cancer and was in hospice care at home. Terry and his family are Episcopalians and were members of the Congregation at the Church of The Holy Communion in Mahopac, NY. A celebration of life will be planned late Spring, early Summer 2021 in Carmel, New York. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
