By Sue Devlin, Stevensville
Jim Crews in his online comments regarding Mayor Dewey’s letter to the editor in last week’s Bitterroot Star is the epitome of arrogance. He claimed (which Mayor Dewey totally denies) that Brandon Dewey “you as a low level clerk who had never had a full time job” told him the night he was appointed mayor that no one trusted him and that no one would work for him. “You as a low level clerk… told that to me, the Council President, newly appointed Mayor.” “I told you in front of the Clerk that I had expected everyone to show up for work the next day.”
Crews showed his true colors by attempting to demean Brandon Dewey’s position as a “low level clerk.” Brandon Dewey was doing the town’s business – working for the town. Sure shows the disdain Crews holds people in positions he deems less than “me, the Council President, newly appointed Mayor.”
Crews has been named in nearly all resignation letters by prior town employees – they all have claimed that he created a hostile workplace, that he was demeaning to them… that he got right in their faces and yelled at them, etc, etc, etc. And he’s continued with that behavior as he was recently named in the Town Clerk Monica Hoffman’s resignation letter.
This is a case of sour grapes, folks. He ran against Mayor Dewey and was soundly beaten.
Jim Crews says
Ms. Devlin,
Stop espousing all these false item of back yard fence gossip. You know absolutely nothing of me.
I hope that the sun shines on you and fills your spirit with something that makes you happy for a change.
Leanna Rodabaugh says
Aw, Susan, the sour grapes belong to you. Dewey was a low level clerk, who apparently had failed to hold even lower level jobs. He is now our mayor and we are literally paying for his lack of experience. He won by 42 percent of the vote. Hardley a huge victory when there were 3 candidates. Not sue what your point is in taking Mr. Crews to task.
If you are defending the mayor in the recall election, then this is irrelevant
Thankfully this mess is almost over
Surely you can agree with that concept.
