By Cass Kalinski, Stevensville
I second a recent guest post in the Bitterroot Star by Mr. Ed White of Hamilton, though “entertainment” is not how I would characterize the on-going conflict in Stevensville. To me it echoes the mess we have at the federal level…a chief executive elected to “clean up the swamp” and our own local Pelosi-posse doing whatever they can to throw a wrench in mix.
Now, Mayor Dewey has indeed stretched the bounds at several points and caution is advised on how he proceeds. However, instead of reading evil intent in that, I chalk it up to a young man, growing with experience, but trying to serve the community of Stevensville the best he knows how. Michalson, Crews, Holcomb, and the rest of their cadre need to grow up. Instead of providing level-headed senior leadership, they look more like a gang of junior high school hoodlums stirring up trouble. I would much rather see their many years of experience focused on constructive support of the mayor, other council members, and (most importantly!) the community’s needs. Enough of the pettiness!
