By Dempsey H. Vick, II, Stevensville
1. Brandon is Stevensville First: He has dedicated his entire lifetime to service of not only individuals in our community, but to the community as a whole, serving on the Stevensville Fire Department, as a bus driver, and now, as the Mayor of this great community.
2. Brandon sees Stevensville’s Future: He plans for the future of the community by searching out and discovering new ways for our local government to run, instead of being a mayor that just attends meetings and signs checks, he spends his days seeking ways for our community to grow and be prepared for further growth.
3. Brandon honors Stevensville’s Past: Outside of his mayoral office, he spends his time with other civic organizations in an attempt to preserve the heritage that makes Stevensville great, these include the former Main Street Association, the Civic Club, Project 59870, among others.
4. Brandon sees beyond the town limits: By understanding that what the local government does within the limits of town affects those businesses and homes that are outside of town and looks out for those that aren’t only in Stevensville Proper, but also in Greater Stevensville, otherwise known as the rest of 59870.
5. Brandon has stood against his opponents and has withstood the fire: For the last year and a half of his holding office, Brandon has stood his ground and has not waivered when challenged by his opponents, to include when I showed as an opponent to his policies. I am proud to have him as the mayor of this community because he does not let the people that have tried to shoot him down, hold him back, or “take him to the gallows” stop him.
Brandon is not a perfect person, nor does he claim to be, neither am I. Brandon has done more for this community in the five years that I have been here than any other person that has held the same office based on stories that I have been told.
There is a little known fact that has not been spread as widely as the recall attempt, and that is, if this recall is to be passed, you, the people will not have a say in who the next mayor is. The only choice you have is either for the recall or against the recall. If the recall passes, the council will have to decide the future mayor, with a 30-day interim period where the council president sits in that seat; and if there is not a candidate that is selected by the council, then that person will remain in that seat.
Bob micalson says
Did you forget you censured the mayor last yr.? You wrote an ethic complaint against him too. It’s becoming clear you no longer represent you ward.
