Masks don’t work

July 22, 2020 by Guest Post

By Dennis Hicks, Hamilton

The following is the result of about 20 minutes of research on my part. All of this information is publicly available, is easily found, and would convince any rational adult that mandating mask-wearing is not only foolish, it causes great harm:

“It’s for your own good,” is the excuse used by all tyrants. If science is allowed to speak to the issue (rather than pseudo-science and selective science), MASKS DON’T WORK.

That’s the title of a scientific research paper submitted by Dr. Denis G. Rancourt, PhD: “A Review of science relevant to COVID-19 social policy.” You can download and read the scientific data-rich paper for yourself, but here are his conclusions:

“Conclusion Regarding that Masks Do Not Work

By making mask-wearing recommendations and policies for the general public, or by expressly condoning the practice, governments have both ignored the scientific evidence and done the opposite of following the precautionary principle.

In an absence of knowledge, governments should not make policies that have a hypothetical potential to cause harm. The government has an onus barrier before it instigates a broad social-engineering intervention, or allows corporations to exploit fear-based sentiments.

The present paper about masks illustrates the degree to which governments, the mainstream media, and institutional propagandists can decide to operate in a science vacuum, or select only incomplete science that serves their interests.”

Mandated mask-wearing harms the economy:

According to the most recent U.S. census reports, out of over 34 million firms in the United States, fully 77% (about 26 million) don’t employ anyone other than the owners. Of the remaining 8 million firms, the majority (65%) employ fewer than 20 people. Ninety percent of all businesses are small family businesses.

Small businesses are truly the backbones of the U.S. economy. When they fail or suffer, the economy follows suit immediately. If we wanted to destroy the U.S. economy we would simply cause widespread damage to small American businesses.

Those who would weaken America (we should call these traitors) are spreading unfounded fear about the so-called COVID-19 pandemic, keeping the schools closed so working mom’s can’t work, and uselessly forcing businesses to require that masks be worn by all their customers.

Watch for a resulting pandemic of business bankruptcies and closures that will financially ruin families and harm their communities.

Governor Bullock has (or should have) the same information I have. His decision to order mandatory mask-wearing in Montana has no health benefits, will damage Montana businesses, and appears to be serving only other interests. The interests of those who want to weaken America, destroy our once-burgeoning economy (President Trump’s strongest political asset), and ratchet government overreach and control to new levels of tyranny.

Denis Rancourt is not a medical doctor. He taught physics at The University of Ottawa until 2008 when he was removed from all teaching duties and banned from the campus.
