The Bitterroot Backcountry Cyclists is accepting bids for clearing and construction work for the creation of mountain-bike designed trails on the Bitterroot National Forest. The project area is approximately six miles north of Darby, MT on the south side of Lake Como. The work will be split among 7 trail segments totaling approximately 8.5 miles. Contracted work will be prioritized to make use of funding available to complete whole segments that fall within our budget.

Trail corridor clearing and tread construction may be performed with a trail machine and finished as necessary with hand tools. Safety, schedules, and quality assurance of specifications will be inspected by the Forest Service representative.

Contractor and machine operator must have experience or be familiar with International Mountain Biking Association trail building techniques and Forest Service Standards and Specifications for trail construction.  Contractor must be licensed and insured in the State of Montana. Contractor shall provide equipment, maintenance, and transportation to and from the project locations. The contractor will be responsible for lodging, per diem, fuel, and maintenance and repair of all equipment.

Bids will be accepted on a per mile basis for each of 7 trail segments.
