Good news! Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is now in Ravalli County! Dolly’s dream was to bring the love of reading to all children and encourage them to use their imagination. To do this, her program provides free books to all children once a month from birth to their 5th birthday. Books that are appropriate for the child’s age are mailed to the child and delivered to their homes. The books are a mix of classics, like Dolly’s favorite, “The Little Engine that Could”, to more recently published books that were chosen by child experts. There is no cost to the family! Sapphire Community Health is our partner, First Security Bank is our primary funder and other local businesses, organizations and individuals have generously donated to make this possible. We encourage daycare centers, churches and other programs that serve families with young children to let parents know about this wonderful resource.
