Support for Bedey

May 19, 2020 by Guest Post

By Ron Ehli, former Representative, House Majority Leader 2017, Hamilton

As a former legislator, I get numerous calls this time of year from former constituents asking for assistance with voting their mail-in ballots. I always appreciate the phone calls because it renews my faith that people are generally really trying to make informed decisions when it comes to voting for our future.

One candidate, again on the 2020 ballot, that I am advocating for is Dave Bedey for House District 86. In the last session, as a freshman legislator, Dave lived up to his stated commitment to work hard for the people of HD 86. Of course, to those of us that know him, his work ethic comes as no surprise. Additionally, a quick look at his resume, you realize that only people driven by a desire for success can accomplish his level of lifetime achievements. Whether rising to the level of Colonel in the U.S. Army, or becoming Chairman of the Hamilton School Board, all is indicative of Dave’s desire to do well.

Looking at his legislative record in his first session, once again you see this same drive. It is a rarity that a freshman legislator can master the legislative process, carry, and then pass seven legislative bills. Additionally, Dave is currently chairing the Legislative Finance Committee’s education subcommittee. These coveted Chairman positions are generally reserved for seasoned legislators with years of experience in the legislative process. It speaks volumes that Dave has carried the legislation that he has and is Chairman of this subcommittee; all accomplished in his first session.

Add to all of this, a fourth generation Bitter Rooter, graduate of Hamilton High School and the Montana University System, and a highly successful military career.  None of this is accomplished without hard work and dedication.  I may not have always agreed with every vote that Dave took, but I will continue to support someone who I know will work hard, looking deep into every issue. I take comfort knowing of his effort to always come to an informed and intelligent decision benefiting his constituents of House District 86, and the good people of Montana.  I am supporting Dave Bedey in his re-election to House District 86 and hope you do too.
