Ernie was one of the founding fathers of Habitat for Humanity in our area. He was there before the first house was built or the ReStore was in existence. I built the fence for the ReStore and I didn’t know how much this organization would impact my life for the better. Ernie was the glue that held things together in the beginning. At his age he can still manhandle a refrigerator or other large appliances that are donated. During the stay at home orders his wife supported him and asked him to stay at home and observe the request. We are all aware that we are blessed for knowing Ernie and hope he will be able to continue with us when the virus is under control. I have many fond memories of Ernie who will always bring a smile to your face, even when you’re down and blue.
Thanks, Ernie, for your upbeat personality of humor. We are looking forward to seeing you back soon.
