Dear friends of the community of Stevensville: We are experiencing a very difficult time within our nation and our communities as we are forced to deal with the COVID-19 Virus. It has disrupted our lives as we have known them just two months ago. So many things that we no longer have control over have become the new norm. Handshakes, hugs and other forms of affection and friendship are no longer acceptable until we are able to control this vicious monster.
As Chairman of the Western Heritage Days Committee, and publisher of the Bitterroot Star (the sponsoring organization), we have spoken with many individuals and the general consensus is that we may have to cancel this year’s Western Heritage Days event scheduled for June. To be sure this is guided by the public safety of our community and most importantly our families and their children. There has been a suggestion to combine some of the WHD events with the Creamery Picnic and we will continue to explore and see if that is possible. Our commitment is to do the best for our community during this stressful time fully knowing that better times will be on the horizon and Western Heritage Days will once again fill the streets of Stevensville with much excitement and fun.
As we continue this journey, please remember and support our local businesses as you can. They have been great sponsors of Western Heritage Days over the years and we need them to survive so that our community remains strong and able to provide the services we have all come to appreciate.
Please stand with us if you will in coping with this decision and know that we will all get through this as a family of true Montanans.

Thank you Victoria for the message about the cancellation of Western Heritage Days.
We understand that you are doing what is best for our community.
