Quote from legislative leaders’ letter to editor:
“Montanans should rest assured that their legislative leadership is doing all they can to ensure state government continues to effectively serve them as we all do our part to stop the spread of COVID19. However, let us all remember that our greatest strengths lie in our families, businesses, and communities – not in government.”
The above quote is less than one paragraph in length. Why do these leaders explain for the next 12 paragraphs the strengths of the very government programs they claim are not the answer to the COVID crisis?
I propose these leaders are feeling naked standing next to their “emperor has no clothes” president while defending their no state or federal government approach regardless of documented public need. They are hoping the same Montana families, businesses and communities don’t notice these leaders are noticeably hanging out. And I don’t mean hanging out with their teenage friends at the mall.
Montana’s families’, businesses’ and communities’ future are now mortgaged through a national two trillion dollar loan to themselves due in part to these leaders’ “solid fiscal stewardship.” How lucky are we to have them at the legislative helm?
Reward them for their concept of effective government and your additional two trillion dollar debt in November with a no vote for their ideas, those who support them as well as the horse they rode in on.
Cheers from self isolation.
