As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to evolve, Ravalli Electric Cooperative wants to inform members of their plans to ensure continuity of service and wellbeing of employees and members.
Ravalli Electric Cooperative’s Board of Trustees has postponed the 2020 Annual Meeting that was scheduled for this Saturday, March 21, in response to Governor Bullock declaring a state of emergency in Montana and President Trump declaring a state of emergency in the nation due to COVID-19.
“The safety and continued health of our members, employees, and the community is at the forefront of our decision,” says REC General Manager Mark Grotbo, noting that public health officials across the nation have recommended limiting large gatherings.
The REC office remains open at this time, but employees and the public visiting are encouraged to liberally use sanitizer which is readily available at the office. Additionally, emphasis on the disinfection of common areas and surfaces has been put in place.
REC management strongly encourages members to make payments online or through the SmartHub app, using the pay-by-phone system (1-877-853-6654), mail or using the drop box in front of the building. Recognizing that they may be forced to close the lobby to the public in the days ahead, they are encouraging members who pay their bill in-person to explore other payment alternatives now.
A notice to all REC Members will be sent once a new date for the annual meeting has been set.
