This is a rebuilding year for the Lady Pirates of Victor. First year coach Ryan Tolley was the junior varsity coach for a couple of years. He has been active with summer ball with the younger players and is hoping to bring a positive attitude as well as a return to fundamentals to the team.

The Lady Pirates took on the always tough Drummond Lady Trojans in their home opener on Friday night. With speed and height, Drummond dominated the Lady Pirates and Victor lost, 55-15. Bella Scichilone had seven points, Ashley Buchanan had five and Abby Kay added three for the Lady Pirates. Scichilone and Buchanan are sophomores and Kay is a freshman.

The Lady Pirates traveled to Hot Springs on Saturday. They had a tough time against the Savage Heat and lost, 68-16. Scichilone had 10 points for Victor.

Hamilton defeated Ronan, 56-43, in non conference action. The Lady Broncs had a strong second half to claim the win. Freshmen Tayrn Searle and Layne Kearns had 18 and 15 points respectively.

The two teams were evenly matched in the first quarter with only three points separating Wolf Point from Florence. However in the second quarter, Florence pulled ahead and held Wolf Point to only five points. The Lady Falcons were ahead by three at the end of the third quarter but then went cold and didn’t score again in the game. Trista Williams and Kasidy Yeoman each had eight points to pace Florence.
