If you could save 3 lives in 10 minutes, would you? Every day 35,000 pints of blood are needed for transfusions to save lives. To put that to scale every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
During the week of Christmas is the Red Cross’s critical need week, this means they get few donors during that week and are in major need of blood. By donating you can save 3 lives! Blood cannot be made in a lab; this means it has to come from people like you and me.
I chose to host a blood drive for my Eagle Scout project because my younger 3-year-old brother has a medical condition and has benefited from blood and tissue donations. This makes my project very personal to me.
Donating blood is the easiest way to give someone the Christmas they might not have. To donate you can sign up at redcrossblood.org “click” find a blood drive and select the blood drive near you. I am holding my blood drive on December 23, in Stevensville at the LDS church. Please consider donating this Christmas and give someone another holiday.
