The November 5, 2019 general municipal election ballot for Stevensville Ward 2 arrived in Saturday’s mail. The ballot lists Bob Michalson as the sole candidate for a 4-year term and Dempsey Vick is listed as the sole candidate for the unexpired term. You need to know those are not your only voting choices.
According to the Ravalli County Elections Office, there is a declared write in candidate for each Council seat.
Patrick Shourd is a declared write in candidate for the 4-year term, running against Bob Michalson.
Trenis Hindle is a declared write in candidate for the unexpired term, running against Dempsey Vick.
Per the Ravalli County Elections Office, in order for a write in vote to count, the candidate must submit the proper paperwork to the County Elections Office before September 3. Patrick Shourd and Trenis Hindle are your only choices if you choose a write in candidate for either position. If you write in any other name your vote will not be counted.
