Is the city of Hamilton overlooking a substantial monetary windfall ? I am not talking about a few hundred dollars in fines for violating the cell phone laws while driving in the city. Although that could add up. No, I am suggesting that by simply enforcing the current Municipal Codes with regards to conditional use permits (CUPs) the city could be taking in up to $1000 per day. That money could be used to improve so many things in our community that seem to get postponed due to “budget shortfalls.”
Want to know more about this $1000 a day windfall? Ask your city council members, your mayor, your department heads, your neighbors. Go to a council meeting and inquire. After all, it’s your community.
