Once again, there is an option to help or not help kids and schools. Based on a $200,000 valued piece of property, it will only cost $7.03 a month. Seven dollars and three cents… a month.
$7.03 a month to help these kids and teachers be better. Yet, people will grumble, get angry, stomp their feet, and vote against it.
How many of those people voting against this have no problem spending $5 for a ‘fancy coffee every day or pack of smokes? Or get their nails/hair done every week? What about that to-go meal because you’re feeling lazy instead of saving money and making something at the house? Won’t adjust the thermostat because they can’t be inconvenienced to put on a sweater or turn on the fan? Get that afternoon/evening drink going? Don’t even get me started on that expensive fancy phone they have with all the apps, that they turn in every few years for the even more expensive new model phone? Gotta have the new big screen tv with extra this/that! SO many channel package choices to choose from, too! ‘Only $20 more a month for 40 more channels’ they advertise! But $7.03 a month for a better school environment, oh no! Won’t do it.
People will waste their money on those above mentioned frivolous items. But they refuse to invest in their own community, teachers, and children. Shameful and ignorant, if you ask me. $7.03 a month.
If you don’t like the way something is/isn’t taught and use that as an excuse to vote against the bonds, shame on you. Teachers can only teach what they’re allowed to; take that complaint to the State. That is apples and oranges.
$7.03 a month for a better schooled community that you live in. DO it.
