Response to Tester

April 16, 2019 by Guest Post

By Jerry Esmay, Stevensville

I just have to respond to the recent letter from Senator Tester published in the Star.

First I would like to thank him for FINALLY making a trip to our southern border to see for himself what is happening down there. While he very reluctantly agrees we have an emergency down there, he can’t bring himself to use the words National Emergency. No, he has to lace his observations with liberal, Democratic BS.

He has to remind us of the government shutdown over adequate funding for the President’s border wall but fails to mention that the President tried to have discussions on the immigration process in general which the Democrats thumbed their noses at.

He then has to suggest that the President is now bypassing Congress in his attempts to deal with the crisis and has impacted funding for Malmstrom Air Force Base. Again, he fails to mention that the liberal, Democrats have tried to block the President’s every move including not wanting to give a single dollar to building a wall.

Oh yes, he has to criticize the President for suggesting that we build a wall along the entire border. That has never been the case but rather the proposal has been to build a wall where it makes sense to funnel these illegal immigrants to border processing centers.

Oh, then he makes a BIG point of how building a wall will have a terrible impact on farmers and ranchers by taking away up to a million acres of farm land which could even impact our food supply. In a previous email I sent to him, I expressed my opinion that this is total nonsense and again liberal, Democratic BS.

He also states that the majority of illegal drugs are coming through the current ports of entry so that is where our money should go. That suggests that he knows where all of the drugs are coming through – more BS.

Finally, I disagree with his criticism of the President withholding money from the countries where most of the current immigrants are coming from. The President is obviously trying to find any way he can to slow and ultimately stop this immigration flood. Money in my mind could be one thing that these countries might react too. Oh but I forget, as a Democrat he MUST disagree with anything and everything the President suggests.

It is clear in my mind that Senator Tester sold his soul to the liberal, Democratic party in order to get reelected.
