In a recent letter to the editor, the author attempted to assure us that global warming was in error. His evidence: the recent trend defying period of cold weather we experienced. The author does not seem to grasp the concept of global. Nor did he take into account, for example, the continuing trend of ever higher temperatures in the Arctic regions. Local or regional weather events often do not reflect global trends.
