Corvallis girls win Frenchtown meet

The Frenchtown Invitational Track meet was actually held at Big Sky this year due to the winter damage and mud at the track in Frenchtown. There were 20 teams in attendance with Corvallis winning the girls team results and Dillon taking home the boys championship. 

Corvallis won three events. The 1,600 relay team of Kailee McCready, Lauren Criddle, Bree Lewis, and Alyssa King won that race with a time of 4:18.56. Whitefish was second with 4:22.19. Maureen Jessop cleared 5 feet to win the high jump and Calla Haldorson threw the discus 134-03.50, almost 10 feet farther than second place. 

Hamilton finished in ninth place in the girls. Brynnli Poulsen was the big winner for the Broncs. She clocked a 5:29.32 in the 1,600, 10 seconds faster than second place. Lilli Day of Corvallis was sixth with 5:54.05. In the 3,200, Poulsen came in at 11:54.13. Corvallis’  Katie Gleason was second with 12:37.30 and Hannah Martin of Corvallis was third with 12:41.70 in the race.

Stevensville’s Ashton Lewis took first in the long jump with a leap of 17-05. She was fourth in the 400. 

Hamilton came in seventh in the boys team scoring with 43 points and Corvallis was eighth with 34 points. Stevensville finished with nine points in 12th place. 

Jacob Campbell of Hamilton won the shot put with a throw of 50-03 and then took first in the discus with a throw of 139-01. Michael Grayes won the javelin with a throw of 186-04.
