Lawrence Casey Scott

January 15, 2019 by Editor

Corvallis – Lawrence Casey Scott (Scotty), 79, of Corvallis, MT passed away at his home on January 10th. Scotty was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Lawrence Scott and Doris Gonder. He grew up in Iowa, Texas, and California. After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps for six years. He graduated from the University of Santa Clara with an Associate’s Degree while beginning his 35-year career at Lockheed Martin. During that time, he was married to Betty Scott for 25 years.

In 1994 after retiring, Scotty moved to the Bitterroot Valley and lived his dream; hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He served as a reserve officer on the Hamilton Police Department for eight years, trying to keep busy during his retirement. He was very active in his church and community, including driving seniors for the Bitterroot Bus, teaching Hunter’s Safety Education, serving community meals, and Meals on Wheels. In 2005, he married Verna Scott. They had many adventures camping, fishing, and visiting family and friends. Scotty became a bailiff for the Hamilton Court. One of his favorite activities was watching sports and he was a faithful fan of the Corvallis Blue Devils.

Scotty is survived by his wife Verna of Corvallis; his children Larry Albert of Stockton, CA, Debbie Scott of Lincoln, CA, Sheila Gibert (Barry) of Yorba Linda, CA; his stepchildren Casey Lunceford (Jeneva), Kami Barker (Matt), Ramey Lunceford (Laura), and Trevor Lunceford (Liz); 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Respects can be given at the viewing on Tuesday, January 15th at Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton from 5 to 7 p.m., and the funeral on Wednesday, January 16th at United Methodist American Baptist Church in Hamilton at 11 a.m. There will be a luncheon following at the church and a graveside service at Corvallis Cemetery at 2 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
