What kind of nation are we that we would rejoice in sending our sons and daughters in harm’s way?
They go for the honor, and the glory; for very little pay.
The glory turns to horror and becomes very chilling.
The honor is soon forgotten when they witness their first killing.
They say they are sent, and they go, to protect our nation and keep us all free.
But we very rarely see the ones that are kept free.
It’s not you and me!
Our freedom is here at home, not in some distant land unknown.
Our leaders stand before us and tell us, “We killed 200 of our enemies today and lost only 10 in the battle area.”
“God bless America.”
What kind of God would bless a nation that would send our young men and women in harm’s way, to kill or be killed, for very little pay?
