Recently I received a book from a friend who grew up in Denmark, and married an American in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Denmark. The title is “Britain’s Victory, Denmark’s Freedom.” The story line elaborates on all the aviators who made their way to England and Scotland from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Poland, et al. who were battling the Hitler scourge.
Two planes were the “Super Marine Spitfire” and the “Hawker Hurricane.” Later in the air war marks morphed into the first jets, both Allied and Axis.
This book tells the greatest success story of the 20th century in that cooperation among all the allies won World War II!
