Aware of political interference by families with recently acquired massive fortunes, framers of our Constitution set out to establish a federal government that would in large part protect the people from factions of the rich and powerful.
However, for the last four decades our Federal Government has increasingly acted to protect, even enrich, factions of the rich and powerful, by suppressing votes of we the people.
In passing the Trump-McConnell tax bill our Congress committed to their donor class that wealth care will take priority over health care. So much priority, that the dominant political party promises to make even more cuts in health care, and enact more tax cuts to favor the 1% donor class.
With billions generated by past and recent inequitable tax cuts, the billionaires have become even more greedy to take over management of public health, public lands and public waters.
It’s gotten so extreme, that to protect itself, the billionaire supported dominant party is right now actively involved in purging voters in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Wisconsin and Colorado. And is prepared to miscount absentee and provisional ballots in Indiana, Arizona and Nevada.
I am voting for Kathleen Williams (no relation), to Represent Montana in the House of Representatives. The ‘People’s House’ where about 14 members of the dominant political party sit in seats gerrymandered away from the minority party after the 2014 Election. The ‘People’s House’ where sit members of Congress profiteering from protecting the high profit supply chain of pharmaceuticals.
I am voting for Gallatin County resident Kathleen Williams because I trust her, and her open, transparent relationship with her constituents. I trust that neither she nor they will be corrupted by the money swamped US House. That’s it in a nutshell.
From what I’ve gathered, our current Representative would continue to represent his donor class insistence that he does not engage in town hall meetings.
If there were town hall meetings the current Representative would have been faced with Montana residents stating our objectives about public health, also public land access and resource management.
Would have been faced with residents asking him to come clean about his assault on the reporter from The Guardian.
Would have been faced with residents concerned that at many levels, an unrepentant assaulter in public office is a terrible role model.
Would have been faced with residents pointing out what much of Montana media missed.
The assault happened at 8 a.m. With recorder in hand, the reporter attempted to ask a question about health care policy.
The multimillionaire member of the dominant political party, with both hands, suddenly grabbed both sides of the reporter’s neck. Levered him to the floor. Got on top and was punching him. The assaulter is much larger than is the victim.
Against the law, the assaulter left the scene of the assault.
Those are the witnessed facts.
However, lacking input from town hall meetings, the assaulter and many members of the dominant party bought into and acted out a contrived propaganda contending that the reporter deserved to be assaulted.
Failing to investigate the assault, Montana print media gave voice to people radicalized by propaganda favoring the unrepentant assaulter.
If not re-elected, Mr. Gianforte will have a golden opportunity to let go of his top down attitude. And finally listen to us people.
The ‘People’s House’ will soon follow new leadership. Leaders who will notice what you might have missed. Kathleen’s legislative experience lowering the cost of prescription medicine. Protecting water rights. Working for equitable taxation.
Kathleen Williams is known for working across the aisle, while serving three terms as a Representative in the Montana Legislature. Legislators and Montana residents respect her science knowledge of natural resource issues like water conservation. Maintaining stream flows for irrigators and fisheries. Her opponent lacks respect for knowledge of science related issues.
A Representative Kathleen Williams will receive committee assignments where she will leverage benefits for we the people in Montana.
