Stevensville – Doloras Arlene Fryhling, of Stevensville, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018.
She was born March 21, 1927 in Billings, Montana. She lived several places in Montana as she was growing up including Great Falls, Mill Town, St. Ignatius, and Missoula. Following her graduation from Missoula County High School in 1945, she attended the University of Montana for a year, and then entered the workforce. She married Melvin Edward “Ed” Fryhling on September 5, 1948. The couple raised four children and have several grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.
Doloras worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Missoula for many years, retiring in 1988. She and Ed then moved from Missoula to Stevensville. She was a member of many organizations following her retirement including the American Legion Auxiliary, the Bitterroot Good Sam Chapter, the Stevensville Garden Club, and the Stevensville Senior Citizens Center. Prior to her retirement, she was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Missoula, and most recently was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stevensville.
Doloras is survived by three children, son, Larry Fryhling of Apple Valley, California; daughter Linda Smith of Missoula; daughter Cindy Corbett and son-in-law Bob Corbett of Camden, South Carolina. Her surviving grandchildren include Tanya Williams, Trina Smith, Robin Jorgensen, Ashley Manolovits, Joseph Fryhling, and Marie Fryhling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed in 1998 and daughter, Susan Fryhling Manolovits in 2004.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 216 College Street, Stevensville, Montana 59870 on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.
