Corvallis defeated Polson, 48-0. Coach Clayton Curley credited his defense for the win. He said the defense held Polson to only 12 total yards and completely shut down the Pirates’ passing game. Hunter Pinheiro made several strong plays to stop any Polson advances. Liang Liedle rushed for over 100 yards as did Pinheiro.
Stevensville held off a surging Ronan team to top the Chiefs, 26-25. The Chiefs scored first when Eric Dolence caught a a 60 yard pass to score. However Stevensville’s Kyler Pancake came right back with a three yard touchdown run. Ronan scored again but then it was stevensville’s turn. Pancake had another scoring run, this time from six yards out. The PAT was not good. Next to score was Garrison Bradt who caught a 12 yard pass from Quincy Larson. Again, the conversion failed. Stevensville’s final touchdown was a pass from Austin Smith to Bradt for the six points. The PAT was good. Ronan scored twice more in the final frame but both conversions were not good and that was the difference for the Yellowjackets.
Hamilton blasted Browning, 70-28. Quarterback Carson Rostad completed 15 of 24 passes for 225 yards and five touchdowns. He also had two interceptions. Rostad rushed for 42 yards. Camron Rothie caught six passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Tucker Jones had one touchdown and caught two passes for 36 yards. Caden Brown caught five touchdowns for 64 yards and had one score. Rothie and Tristan Lewis each had one interception and Barnes snagged two. Hamilton is now 3-0 in non conference play.
Bigfork defeated Florence, 44-22 in Western B action. The Vikings scored six times before Florence’s Colby Kohlman called his own number for a touchdown. Kyler Alm scored the two point conversion. Florence scored again when Trevyn Wood caught a 28 yard pass from Kohlman. Gavin Zaluski kicked the extra point. The final Falcon touchdown was a Kohlman run from two yards out. Alm caught the pass on the 2-point conversion.
The Darby Tigers picked up their second win of the season with a 56-6 win over the Plains Horsemen on Saturday at their Homecoming. Victor lost to Clark Fork, 56-0.
