On Tuesday, parents of students attending Stevensville Schools received the following message from the school:
Parents and school community members: As you may have heard on the news, School Resource Officer Sam Fawcett has been placed on administrative leave by the Town of Stevensville pending an investigation. The Stevensville School District contracts with the Town of Stevensville for the SRO and we have no involvement in this investigation. Police Chief Marble informed me of the administrative leave with pay when he instituted the action and clearly indicated that investigation does not involve any Stevensville School District staff or students. I have suspended the SRO program for the remainder of the year because the Town of Stevensville will not be able to provide a police officer at this time.
