Stevensville Police Officer Sam Fawcett, who serves as the School Resource Officer, has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office, according to Stevensville Police Chief James Marble. Marble declined to comment any further on the action, referring all questions to the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Steve Holton confirmed that Fawcett was being investigated based on a criminal complaint but declined to comment any further, saying he did not want to jeopardize an ongoing investigation, but expected to be able to release some information soon.
Stevensville School District Superintendent Dr. Bob Moore said only that he had been assured by Police Chief Marble that the situation had nothing to do with anyone who works at the school or any student at the school.
