The Ravalli County Planning Department is inviting public comment on a floodplain permit application for work proposed within the floodplain of the Bitterroot River. The proposed project is an annually recurring (as necessary) maintenance activity on the Corvallis Canal stone and concrete diversion. A track-hoe will be used to replace rocks that have been displaced, and remove accumulated debris as necessary. The project is located approximately 1,800 feet downstream (north) of Main Street Bridge in Sections 25 & 26, Township 6 North, Range 21 West, Ravalli County. The applicant is the Corvallis Canal & Water Co. Information regarding this application is available at the Ravalli County Planning Department at 215 S 4th St, Suite F in Hamilton.
