The Southwest A Divisional tennis tournament was held in Hamilton and Corvallis. The top four singles and top four doubles teams advance to the state tournament this weekend in Polson and Ronan.
Dillon claimed first in the boys team scoring followed by Butte Central, Corvallis, Hamilton and Stevensville. Alex Raymond of Hamilton was defeated by Bradley Rakich of Dillon in the singles championship match.The Corvallis team of Caleb Warnken and Gabe DeLeo won the doubles championship over Cameron Johnson and Guido Ossello of Butte Central. Maruis Godard of Corvallis was topped by Butte Central’s Manuel Gonzalez in the consolation final and will make the trip to state.
The Corvallis girls won the team scoring. They were followed by Butte Central, Stevensville, Dillon and Hamilton. Olivia Fehr of Corvallis defeated Dillon’s Nicole Hritsco for the singles championship. Sarah Trinh of Hamilton topped Zoe Sullivan of Butte Central in the consolation match. In the girls doubles championship, Stevensville’s Erin Bartlett and Jackie Westman defeated Corvallis’ Connie Watt and Claire Pickett in the championship match. In the consolation final, the team of Danielle Coates and Kristina Weidkamp defeated Stevensville’s Jamyn Beller and Callie Cavill.
