My attempts to navigate the political minefield of phobias and isms led me to conclude that I have “Unameriphobia” – a fear of losing America. Our current self-appointed social caretakers have a vision of America based on a negative model of who we are and how we must be transformed to fit into the global model. Human beings cannot be quantified, we cannot be reduced to so much data on a chart and our society engineered to fit this flawed model of America, we are more than that.
With this in mind, I revisited the 1966 work of Cloward and Piven (C&P) who developed a political strategy for moving America towards this engineered vision. The basis of C&P is to overwhelm our system with demands so that it would collapse under its own weight. We are seeing that C&P strategy today as people demand their rights be protected from whatever group seems to oppose them. The true genius of this is bearing fruit as people are taught that their wishes will somehow become a protected “natural right” if they sell themselves as an oppressed “class.”
This does not happen in a vacuum; this model is being encouraged by well educated, perhaps well meaning sociologists and community organizers who will, if left unchallenged, eventually overwhelm our system with their prospective victims. I am sure they have a replacement system in mind that would bring about Utopia in some form or another, but I for one do not wish to cross that bridge as I fear the toll would be too high, losing America completely.
