In researching history of National Forest Rangers and Supervisors, it is interesting to note that they protected, preserved and guarded what was in their district, while at the same time they allowed logging, cattle and sheep grazing, and human use. Forest fires were put out immediately, and nothing was wasted. Forests were improved, grazing land improved, and access to the forests were not blocked or limited. The forests provided income for families and raised taxes to run the county.
Now, the forests are “managed” by people who do not really have conservation in mind. And the new entities of the 501 c non-profits who make the most noise about conservation, are in actuality destroying what they say they are protecting. They control but do not improve anything, they do not allow use of natural resources and do not allow people to use what is “public land.”
Our country has become snared in the web of’ “their land” and I have to wonder who they are saving ‘”their land” for? It is “our land,” owned by “the people for the people.”
