Recent reports indicate that President Trump and his Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke have decided to put a hold on reversing the ban of importing elephant hunt trophies from Zimbabwe and Zambia. This decision is pending further review because of numerous protests from worldwide animal rights groups and even some conservative politicians in the United States.
The President tweeted that he will review all conservation facts with Secretary Zinke and then give an update soon. I’m not sure if Commando Zinke and his “International Wildlife Conservation Council” is the appropriate agency to enhance wildlife conservation around the world. Zinke’s office in Washington is littered with stuffed trophy animals and he likes to hunt with those African Big Game Conservationalists Eric and Donald Trump, Jr.
The President might be better served if he formed a hunting conservation council with the famous outdoorsman Ted Nugent as its advisory chief. He could send Ted on a fact-finding excursion to Zimbabwe along with Eric and Don Jr. and visit the bush country surrounding the Zambezi River. I bet they’d run into some other organizations interested in endangered trophy animals on that venture.
