This is in response to Mary Fahenstock-Thomas:
Mary, let me begin by saying that I am sure you are a fine Christian woman who truly believes that no one deserves our contempt. However, I truly believe that Donald J. Trump is not a deplorable person. He is, however, a despicable creature that was somehow able to convince a large group of people that he alone would look out for them and “make America great …. again.” Very much like Hitler did with the German people in the late 20’s. So far this plague that occupies the White House has managed to anger our allies and threatens to annihilate the rest of the world.
If they could, the Trump people would like to erase anyone from this country that does not meet their criteria of “loyal” subjects, this includes blacks, Hispanics, LBGTQ, Muslims, successful women and the media (only Fox propaganda TV can stay and be state news).
As we know, in order to be “chosen” by Trump for his cabinet, he asked for “loyalty” from his candidates. If you didn’t meet this loyalty test, you were first relentlessly bullied then fired or fled. When one high ranking officer was asked if he would be willing to take a post in Trump’s cabinet his response was “No” and described it as a “s–t sandwich.” This is a creature that routinely disparages and is contemptuous of anyone who it deems to be the enemy. That’s a lot of us here in the U.S., Mary. How were so many voters swept up in this insane, angry, despicable creature’s evil message? How could this country knowingly let a pathological liar, who really despises most of us, become our leader? Do we as Americans hate each other so much that we are willing to do harm to all?
You say that Trump’s bad behavior is encouraging others to express what they truly believe? Is that what happened in Las Vegas, a
Trump follower who was just expressing his beliefs? How about the white racists who killed and injured people in Charlottesville VA? Since Trump began running for President he has been encouraging his followers to resort to violence as an answer towards those who disagree with his manifesto. Enough!
We are a better country and a more compassionate people than this repugnant outlier currently in the White House believes we are. Sowing discord and hate is his modus operandi. This is evil on steroids, Mary, and the quicker we all recognize, repudiate, and replace it with forward thinking, compassionate leaders, the better we and the rest of the planet will be. Peace, Mary.
