Two letters, two opinions:
1) the right of our citizens to be safe and secure in their lives and 2) the right to own a weapon of war like the AR-15, AK-47 and even a M16A1, the latter three weapons capable of rates of fire in excess of 300 rounds/min. Thus, the questions to be answered are:
1) are there bounds to our rights and
2) does one right hold precedence over the other in the final analysis.
These are the ultimate questions that have to be answered by the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of our system of governance if these mass killings of our citizens continue to occur in our society.
