The Trump Administration is calling the (more or less) permanent protection of public lands belonging to the people of the United States a land grab. It would seem to be more appropriate to call taking public land, which is already our (the people’s) land, and giving it to private companies to drill, frack, clear cut and mine, a land grab.
Did it ever occur to anyone that when the children being born today are 50 years old, they might need some natural resources left for them to use? Did it even remotely occur to anyone that the children or grandchildren of those people might also need natural resources? Is there any reason that we should use up all the natural resources immediately, leaving nothing for the future? Is there any good reason for killing all the plants and animals that live on the public lands by destroying and poisoning their habitat? Is there any justifiable reason for not leaving anything for future generations? We only have one planet. Mars and the Moon aren’t good places to live. Why don’t some people want anything to be saved for future generations?
Maybe the Trump Administration is planning to kill all life on the planet, including human life. That way there would be no future generations for whom to save natural resources. The air, water and foliage now contain unprecedented levels of pesticide combinations. Consequently, at the rate that children and other animals are being born with developmental defects, there may not be any life left on the planet in 50 years. Thus there will be no way for the billionaires to spend their money because they will be dead too! End of problem!
