Corvallis’ Cole Trexler is the national champion in boys’ breakaway roping. Trexler won the title at the National Junior High Rodeo Finals in Lebanon, Tennessee, on Saturday night. He finished the night with a cumulative total of 8.18 on three head of cattle to win. Trexler went into the night in eighth place with 5.99 on two head. Trexler also came back to the short go in the saddle bronc steer riding. In addition, he and his partner, Paige Palin, won first place in the second go-around of the ribbon roping.
