I am outraged.
How is it that law enforcement can yell at and bully me, and I cannot yell at and bully them?
How is it that the court bureaucrats can disrupt and interfere with my life, and I cannot set a mandatory time and date that forces them to show up at my house?
How is it that the city and county get great buildings in town, and I have to pay rent or a mortgage and property tax or be homeless?
How is it that I give all my personal data to government agents, and they don’t give me theirs?
This is a double standard, and I am outraged. Who set this system up? Who pays for all of this? This did not start with Trump! This has been going on for a very long time. And we have all tolerated and justified this in the name of safety or whatever other excuse you have. We are all complicit.
I feel powerless to change this as far as I can see. And the trauma marches on, the bullying perpetuates more violence, and the old patterns become ruts we carry out habitually without question.
I am guessing most people won’t even read this far. When will the injustice stop? When will we say enough is enough? When will we grow up or evolve to a place where all human beings are respected regardless of a uniform, a badge or a bureau?
The unintended consequences of this double standard and this respect for some and not for others is extremely costly.
Imagine a new way of doing things and a new way of interacting with me, please.
