I rarely become political. I can’t help but think that the issue with the river access is more simple than complex. Every one of us, whether a resident of Stevensville or part of our surrounding community, has a vested interest in the river that acts as an artery that pumps the quality of life that we all aspire to have the time to enjoy.
The State of Montana has offered to help Stevensville create a proper boat launch facility and keep clean the park. The Capps have held liability and permitted this community to enjoy the river for eons.
It is time we realize that this river is our lives and we want public access and we all want the entire river park because God ain’t making new rivers right next to my hometown.
Compromise is when no one is happy, an agreement is when everyone is happy. I suggest that we find a reason and a price that we can agree on, pay the Capps, build a park, and honor Will Wyatt, because that is a great spot to enjoy the river and public access is exactly the reason why we live here.
