If you are a small Montana business owner, have you ever paid to interview a potential job applicant? And even more bizarre during the interview the applicant’s acquaintance rather than the applicant did most of the talking? Montana is about to hire a new congressman. You get to pay $35 to $2700 for this job interview if you would like to attend Greg Gianforte’s upcoming Hamilton campaign event featuring Donald Trump Jr.
Gianforte spent $6 million running for governor and the son of a man that spent $957.6 million getting elected as president welcomes Ravalli residents with an average mean per capita income of $17,935 to attend for $35. Not attend and donate what you can afford, listen and learn about the candidate but rather pay at the door to help finance their participation in our democracy. A government system they already control.
As a Ravalli county resident you have to pay to play even before the election. Will you have enough money after the election to continue having your voice heard? Gianforte made his billions developing software which enables global corporations to outsource jobs overseas, not employ more Montanans. His Bozeman location enabled relatively low employee wages due to the quality of life offered by Montana’s great outdoors. He rewarded Montana by suing the state to prevent public fishing access near his home. Like Montana copper kings of old, this modern Montana computer king is using his wealth and influence to expand corporate control of our government while buying a trophy job for himself.
Being a retired small business owner, I’ve had to hire my share of less than perfect employees due to shortages of time and available quality new hires. In such a case I screened for an upbeat positive attitude and trained for skills. You cannot retrain a bad attitude.
Rob Quist is not perfect. Yet he has lived the Montana experience. He will protect our public lands while fighting corporate government control. In addition, Rob will listen to the small Montana donor who gave what they could at the door rather than paid admission to finance and advance the goals of billionaires beholden to no one because they can afford it. Vote for Rob Quist.
