Hamilton defeated Dillon, 16-5, in their opening game of the softball season on Thursday. Sky Lopez had nine strikeouts in the game for Hamilton. Rachel Richardson went 1-for-2 with a home and RBIs. Mallory McGill went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Caitlin Dillon was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Hayley Hudgins, Lopez and Kelsie Meis, the Lady Broncs’ catcher, each had an RBI.
Florence had the opportunity to play on the University of Montana softball field against Frenchtown on Saturday. The Frenchtown Broncs scored five runs in the fifth inning to give them the edge in the 6-2 non-conference win. Brianna Hoffman took the loss for the Lady Falcons. She was relieved by Shannon Byrne in the fifth inning. Natalie Dulac was the catcher for Florence. Chloe Arthur went 2-for-2 with a double. Shay Waldbillig went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Kali Leibenguth also had an RBI for Florence.
